At Book Family Farm we are concerned about our health and the health of our animals. We grow grass fed beef, pastured pork and pastured poultry. Besides growing healthy food what we like to do best is to use our farm to teach both children and adults about real food. We teach that "it matters what you eat and what you eat, eats too!
All of our products are sold on farm only.Contact us by email or phone the first time you come and we will meet you and show you how and where to buy our products on the farm.Or for fun and education, schedule a tour for your family, group or school.
In the Fall we harvest and conduct fieldtrips on the farm. We also open our farm to the public.
Winter is quiet, and spring is very busy prepping the ground to be planted.
I am challenged to use my creativity to solve problems. I love taking care of the animals, they are always happy with me. That makes it especially fun to go to work. I also love sharing the farm with others.
I have been given the opportunity to develop skills in machinery, crops, and people skills especially teaching.
One thing that makes my work fun and fulfilling is when a child gets off the bus to visit the farm and asks me if I am the farmer. They want to share my joy of farming, hold my hand, and explore the farm.
My Mentor would be my Father. Since we were little we did farm work. He taught me to handle machinery, milk a cow, and work hard!
